Assessment, Electroacupuncture, & Manual Release for 12 Peripheral Nerve Entrapments (PNE)
Peripheral nerve entrapments, also known as nerve compressions or nerve impingements, occur when a nerve is pressed or squeezed at a particular site, leading to pain, numbness, tingling, or weakness in the areas innervated by the nerve. Peripheral nerves are susceptible to entrapment, and various conditions and anatomical structures can contribute to nerve compression. This webinar will cover the physiology, stages of, and signs and symptoms of nerve entrapments, how to assess for nerve entrapments, and how to release nerves using electroacupuncture and manual therapy.
Webinar outline:
What is a Peripheral Nerve Entrapment?
•physiology of peripheral nerve entrapment?
•stages of nerve injury and inflammation cascade
•general signs/symptoms of nerve entrapment
Each of the following entrapment sites will discuss and demonstrate the following:
•How to assess respective PNE’s
•How to release PNE’s using electro-acupuncture
•How to release PNE’s using manual release
•Learn rehab exercises to teach your patient to do at home
The following 12 nerves are covered:
- suprascapular nerve
- axillary nerve
- dorsal scapular nerve
- radial nerve
- median nerve
- ulnar nerve
- lateral femoral cutaneous nerve
- femoral nerve
- obturator nerve
- sciatic nerve
- peroneal Nerve
- tibial nerve

Course description and outline:
Cutaneous nerve electro-acupuncture can increase the treatment outcomes of your patients, and can significantly reduce pain and improve joint function.
Electro-acupuncture on cutaneous nerves works to:
1. Remove stimulus which causes dermatomal pain.
2. Improve range of motion in joints supplied by cutaneous nerves.
3. Increase entire limb flexibility and movement by treating cutaneous nerve compression sites.
This webinar covers noxious stimuli, neurogenic inflammation, the purpose o cutaneous nerves including anatomy, and how to treat the following cutaneous nerves.
Cutaneous nerves covered:
- cervical plexus
- supraclavicular
- intercostobrachial
- superficial radial
- cluneal
- lateral femoral cutaneous
- anterior femoral cutaneous
- saphenous nerve
- articular branch of sciatic nerve
- posterior femoral cutaneous
- recurrent articular branch of peroneal nerve
- sural nerve
- geniculate nerve (branch of sciatic)

A common source of pain and impaired function in both the athletic population and in those who stand a lot, obturator nerve compression can elude many practitioners. Obturator nerve compression can cause deep aching in the adductor at the pubic bone, and tingling, numbness and pain in the leg and knee. When understood properly, the practitioner can assess and treat this condition very effectively, and help patients who have been suffering for some time, helping them get back to work, the field, or the court. Anthony ranks this webinar as one of the best topics he’s done to date.
Course Outline:
Assessment & Treatment of Obturator Nerve Compression
-Signs and Symptoms and obturator Nerve Compression
-Anatomy
-Motor and Sensory Innervation
-Assessment
-Case Study
-Posterior Obturator Nerve Compression
-Treatment Protocols
-Rehab Exercises
