Course Description
This advanced clinical skills seminar is designed for practitioners looking to learn new skills in electroacupuncture to improve their clinical results treating a variety of musculoskeletal pain and dysfunction, particularly for athletes and sports injuries.
This program introduces a mixed-frequency electroacupuncture framework integrating low, medium, and high-frequency stimulation within a single treatment paradigm to simultaneously target pain modulation, neuromuscular activation, tissue desensitization, and functional recovery.
The curriculum is grounded in electroacupuncture literature demonstrating frequency-dependent neurophysiological effects, including differential activation of endogenous opioid systems and neuromuscular pathways. Participants will extend these principles into a clinically reasoned mixed-frequency model tailored to athletic populations.
Course Learning Objectives
- Develop a comprehensive understanding of the neurophysiological mechanisms of acupuncture and electro-acupuncture.
- Differentiate low-, medium-, and high-frequency stimulation and their physiological effects.
- Apply mixed-frequency electro-needling strategies across musculoskeletal conditions.
- Integrate anatomical, neurological, and tissue-healing principles into treatment planning.
- Enhance return-to-play outcomes through targeted neuromodulation.
- Build advanced clinical reasoning based on tissue stage and innervation patterns.
