SUMMARY:Demystifying the Pelvic Floor Discovery Class
DESCRIPTION:Date: Sunday March 1st \nTime: 10am-2pm \nLocation: Bradenton\, Florida \nVenue: Dragon Rises College \nApproved for 4 NCCAOM CEUs\, Category AOM-BIO \nThe pelvic floor is one of the most important yet least understood regions of the body. Too often\, it is overlooked in training programs and left out of treatment strategies—despite its central role in core stability\, urogenital and sexual health\, and more. This presentation will shine light on the pelvic floor by blending lecture and live demonstration to demystify this complex area and show how approachable this area is. We’ll review the anatomy of the pelvis\, common conditions seen in pelvic floor disorders\, and special considerations when treating pelvic floor patients. There will also be demos of locating\, palpating\, and needling structures in the pelvis and pelvic floor. This will be a truly eye-opening experience! \nTime breakdown: \n10:00am-10:15am – Introduction to Jamie Hampton\, DAOM; How she specialized in pelvic floor \n10:15am-10:45am – Review of pelvic floor anatomy; Tensegrity demo \n10:45am-11:15am – Special considerations when treating pelvic floor patients: Trauma\, consent\, communication\, ethics \n11:15-11:45am: Common conditions treated with pelvic floor acupuncture \n11:45am-12:00pm: Break \n12:00pm-1:45pm – Locating\, palpating and needling demos: \n\nProper draping\nUmbilicus needling\nSacrotuberus Ligament\nAdductors\nBulbospongiousus\n\n1:45am-2:00pm – Q&A \nAbout Jamie Hampton\, DAOM\, L.Ac. \nDr. Jamie Hampton is a doctoral graduate of The American College of Traditional Chinese Medicine\, the oldest TCM school in the US.
